Starting his Advisory career in 2001, he was shown the dark side of advising- lying to business owners. He switched firms immediately, only to discover the industry norm- owners were treated like transactions, pressure was standard and transparency rare.
Exit Strategies was created in 2002 with a powerful promise: “We educate first, advise second, then execute when you’re ready.” In 2005 he achieved a Certified Mergers & Acquisitions Advisor (CM&AA) status.
Selling 10+ restoration companies in 5 years, JT was invited by the RIA to speak in 2007. Since, he’s been invited to speak industry-wide, written dozens of articles, plus featured in many podcasts, webinars and workshops. He’s trusted by owners and respected by Transition Team advisors.
As an industry specialist, JT has successfully closed 200+ restoration deals totaling over $1.2B.
Beyond Exit Strategies, he’s currently writing a book called “M&A Q&A”. He’s also a dad of 2 and grandpa of 3. His two passions are hiking/backpacking and grilling.
